WRIST CONTROL by Tiger Claw
Benefits:
Having the ability control ones wrists is an everlasting struggle. With putting and chipping being such an important part of the game it is vital one understands how they should work.
By following the simple steps below, you will soon be able to chip like a professional. With the new Wrist Control it is made easy.
Assembly
Even though the Wrist Control has so many uses the assembly stays the same. There are only some minor adjustments for each.
From Scratch
1) Slide the Wrist Control into the base.
2) Slide the Wrist Control onto the shaft midway up for easy fitting.
3) Slide the Wrist Control about 2 fingers width from the base of your grip. This is not a required distance, you can adjust it up or down to suit your hands.
4) Adjust the Wrist Control for either putting or chipping. (see below)
Chipping
1) For chipping, take your chipping stance with your left hand only. Adjust the Wrist Control so that it lines up with your left for arm.
2) Once set tighten the Wrist Control securely with the wing nut provided
3) Now take your address position and adjust the black lever on the Wrist Control so that it sits about one inch from the left forearm.
4) One of the biggest problems people face when chipping is that their wrists have a tendancy to break too early or too much during the chipping motion. This is one of the biggest causes of top or duff shots.
5) To help you with this make sure that throughout your chipping stroke the Wrist Control never touches your forearm at any point during the chipping motion. This will give the correct feeling and stop your hands from flipping.
6) If the Wrist Control touches your left forearm on the way through then you are breaking your wrists too much. Again make sure it never touches.
Putting
Slide the Wrist Control onto the bottom part of your putter then slide it up onto the grip as in the pictures.
Line the Wrist Control 90 degree to the putter face.
Once you get into your putting stance adjust the Wrist Control so that it lines up with your left forearm and you ready to go.
Using the Wrist Control
There are generally 2 ways to put. Some prefer to release the putter head with the wrist and others prefer to stay connected.
Staying Connected:
Once you take your stance, adjust the wrist control so that it touches you fore arm.
To stay connected make sure the Wrist Control never leaves your arm at any point throughout your putting stroke.
Make sure the Wrist Control does not leave you forearm as shown in this picture.
Releasing the Putter head:
Once you are in your putting stance make sure the Wrist Control is about one inch from your left forearm.
During the putting stroke release the putter head so that the Wrist Control touches your fore arm just after impact.
